She looked so beautiful in that red and light pink lehenga. I was dumbstruck by her beauty and I looked into her eyes and told her ‘You look so beautiful’ and her smile won my heart." What makes your wedding different from others? I ask. To this Shailja goes on to narrate, "We did most of our wedding shopping through video calls to each other to help with selection and even for dance performances we practiced on video.”

I then ask Ankur what is the best surprise Shailja has given him. With a lot of excitement he says, "It was my birthday and Shailja decorated our entire house with rose petals and she made it even more special by making a card for me all by herself. That was the first time she made something for me and it was a big surprise. She also made my birthday perfect by asking me to plant 5 saplings in our society. I am so glad we did that and I am going to follow this." 

On asking Shailja what made her think Ankur is the one, she says, “Ankur’s profile matched all my expectations. We started chatting with each other on the BharatMatrimony app and slowly got to know each other and within a week we exchanged our numbers. We used to speak on phone calls before we could meet. We were already in love.” So who proposed first? “Both of us said it together.”
