We texted on the app and within an hour, we exchanged our numbers. With so many chats and calls within a day we connected so well. We are exact opposites to each other and that somehow got us closer.” That’s interesting!

The excited Shilpa spills the beans about her first meeting, “I was on cloud nine when I met him. Somewhere deep down I knew he is the one.” Astonished, I asked how she was so sure that he was the one? “I don’t think it was love at first sight, but it felt like I had some deep connection with him. I felt like he is the man I want to marry. I liked every little thing about him. He is simple, calm, composed, a down to earth person and he looked so cute.”

So who proposed first? The beautiful lady giggles and says, “It was me who proposed first.” How did you propose to him? “On our third meeting, we had gone to a Sindhi restaurant. While we were having our dinner I looked into Naresh’s eyes and asked him hum shaadi kab kar rahe hain? He was completely surprised as he didn’t expect that I would ask this to him out of nowhere. Just before leaving he looked at me and even though he didn’t tell anything I knew it was a yes! As he is not very expressive, the spark in his eyes said it all.” So cute!

I ask Shilpa to tell me about one special memory from their 2 months of courtship. “As both of us were working in Chandigarh we wanted to arrange for a house together before marriage. We searched for a house together which was a new experience for both of us and we were equally excited to start the new phase of our lives together. During that time we got to know each other quite well and that made our bond stronger. That is a beautiful memory. From knowing each other’s likes and dislikes, I also got to know how good is Naresh with shopping. Even now he keeps buying me something or the other. I think all couples should have a courtship period to know each other well.”

One message for Naresh, “You may already know this but let me say it today. My beloved husband, in all this time by your side you have given me all the joy I could ever wish for. Thank you for always being with me. You are my soulmate and I love you a lot.”
